How It Works

Through this program, you can encourage your church to be part of making a practical difference in the lives of people in the least Christian regions of the world, in a way directly tied to Christian outreach. Choose a gift to purchase, hang an ornament on a previously undecorated tree, and take home an informational card as a reminder of the gift. The card can also be given away if you purchase the gift in someone's honor for Christmas. As Christmas approaches, the tree fills up with ornaments, reminding the congregation of the way they are sharing their hope in Christ around the world.

Getting Started

• Choose a coordinator within your congregation, someone excited about missions and promoting global generosity this season (maybe it's you!)
• Decide when you will make this program available to your church - suggestions are the month of December, or between Thanksgiving and Christmas
• Request the resources you need for promotion, including quantity of posters, bulletin inserts, catalogs, and other materials (link for requesting resources here) or by calling 888-887-2786
• Download and print the desired number of order forms, ornaments and informational cards
• Recruit people to run the Giving Tree table each Sunday
• Pray for God to use the Harvest of Hope™ Giving Tree program within your church to bring greater global awareness and generosity this Christmas season

• Complete Program Instructions for running your Harvest of Hope™ Giving Tree program.
• Ornament tags: There are 15 different projects available through the Giving Tree program, a sampling of the Harvest of Hope™ Gift Catalog. To use the ornaments, open the pdf using the link below. There are two ornaments and two informational cards for each 8½ by 11 page. Make sure to set the Page Scaling to "None" in the print dialog box. Print the number you want. Once printed, cut each page in half vertically and horizontally and punch a hole in the middle of the top for the ornament. When a person chooses a project they want, they can hang the ornament and keep the corresponding information card.
